Government officials say the powerful earthquake that struck China's southwestern province of Sichuan has left at least 130 people dead and more than 3,000 others injured.
China Earthquake Networks Center stated that the strong tremor measuring 6.6 on the Richter scale hit Lushan county in Sichuan just before eight in the morning local time on Saturday.
The epicenter at a depth of 12 kilometers (8 miles), has been located at 30.3 degrees northern latitude and 103.0 degrees eastern longitude.
