A 4.0 magnitude earthquake, the largest in Western Washington this year, shook the Puget Sound early Wednesday.
The quake, centered under Hood Canal, started around 3 a.m. and only lasted a few seconds, said John Vidale professor in earth and space sciences at the University of Washington. There were some reports the quake was centered near Seabeck.
