6.4-magnitude earthquake was reported in Alaska

A 6.4-magnitude earthquake was reported in Alaska on Monday (October 16), the United States Geological Survey announced. The earthquake was reported in the city of Adak -- which is located several hundred miles from Russia -- at around 2:35 a.m. local time and had a 187.4 kilometer depth. The U.S. Tsunami Warning System confirmed that there was no tsunami threat in relation to the natural disaster.
